ok, i'm pulling my hair out.. went to pick kiddy up from school and on the way car dies. I thought maybe it had just stalled so bumped it off whilst still doing about 20mph. However I noticed that the tacho needle was flat on zero ie didn't even move. Even when starting the car normally i'd see it raise to a couple of hundred rpm or so.
Anyway, took a lead off and hooked up a spare sparkplug and no spark. The coilpack connector had the usual 12v across all three terminals and cranking dropped either coilside as i'd expect to see on my analogue meter. Never had a prob with the cps and the wiring to it seems in great condition too.
So I thought maybe EDIS is faulty, tried a known working one, same result.

Of course this all happens after 5pm so it's dark and continuity testing just isn't gonna happen tonight. Plus the place where i've left the car makes the Chatsworth estate look posh....
Any ideas? I just haven't ever seen the tacho fall flat like that before so maybe it's something someone on here might be able to shed some light on?
Thanks for reading,
Karl.
