The 200(4wd) block is stiffened around the base area over the 205(rwd).
There is also a thickwalled block found in the RS500, identified by the small core plugs.
Visually you can see the 205 or 200 cast into the side easy enough.
You are correct about the stat housings, the 4wd has a much better cooling system.
