They only have to post it to the registered keeper at the address held by DVLA in 14 days so, if you have moved and not told them, they have quite a lot later to get it to you.
After that initial 14 day period, there is no formal timescale until the offence times out after 6 months.
Been at this house 6 years so should be straight forward!, its a taxi but its mine and i'm on logbook
