Pump removing + electric water pump
On a zetec engine:
If a zetec engine has both power steering and aircon, and i remove both of these and move alternator to the front, will i still need to run the belt via an idler to make water pump spin the right way, or will removing two pumps mean it doesnt reverse the direction?
Fitting into mk4 escort. Ideally i'd like the alternator to stay at the back if i can help it/make it fit.
I am actually considering getting an electric pump controlled by ecu, for effectiveness, neatness and 'simplicity'. Which obviously make my question pointless, but im seeing my options first.
If i go electric, should i just remove the impeller from the belt driven pump to give an empty housing and fit the electric inline somewhere? Or is there other ways to do it?
