This is exactly my point. My sub 200hp rst is plently quick for where i drive, how i drive and what the car gets used for.

if i built a car to go fast i'd try to spec an engine, with something in mind for a final power like you said and see where it got and how useful it was in its purpose. Personally i'd have no hesitation to detune a car 43hp for example if it meant it was actually faster on road.
I just dont see the same appeal of it as these people who build a 300hp engine or try to, bolt it in and say down the pub "i've got an rst that eats gearboxes and spins in 5th in the wet" .
