An order forcing a former airfield turned car track to quieten down has been quashed following a public inquiry.
Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, which holds corporate and charity driving days when people drive fast cars around the 400-acre site, was told by Harborough District Council it was making too much noise.
The council said the owners of the site were breaching the conditions of their planning permission by hosting events not connected to testing cars.
But the proving ground, near Lutterworth, appealed and the council lost the case.
The council's enforcement notice, served almost a year ago with the support of 87 residents, has been quashed.
However, the planning inspector has made several demands of the track to please residents in the area.
Owner David Walton can still host events to raise cash, but he is now required to have a quiet Sunday once a month and the whole issue will be reviewed in 2011.
A spokesman for Harborough District Council said: "We have the decision that comes with a detailed report and a number of conditions that will need to be carefully looked at."
Mr Walton argued the activities had been allowed in the past and he had permission to hold the events.
Mr Walton was unavailable for comment yesterday.
