It is a sporty drive though, just not in terms of speed. Focus chassis was years ahead of its time when it came out, and it's till competitive against the newest hatches!

But yeah, the power is obviously at the top end of the rev range. You really need to wring its neck to get the best out of it, and it likes it. All cars with some kind of VVT could be compared to a Vtec, but there isn't a noticable power change like an old Civic Vti, for e.g. Quite smooth in comparison.
