I have been trying to get insurance for me to drive a car, but the car is not owned by myself but by a friend of mine who is on disability.

She doesn't drive and I drive her about.

I find it quite amazing that several insurers (incluyding LV whom I have just phoned) refuse to insure me (for that reason only - I have no convictions or claims whatsoever). Some would insure me but only if I said my friend was my partner!

In my opinion insurance is the greatest con of our times and my recent experience has reinforced this view.

I would be interested to hear your views and any advice you might offer.
