Add to that the players Liverpool have let go, Alonso, Keane etc then you can see why we are in trouble. We have a decent starting 11, but only if EVERY player is fit, and no real replacements..
We need 2 more quality strikers, 2 strong midfielders and maybe another Defender, to even stand a chance of making a title bid properly
Which is exactally what ive been saying in other threads, if everyone is fully fit, were a decent first 11, but we get injurys to a few key players, and we got serious problems, were distinictly average, the squad is no where near good enough, and for me rafa is the reason, he has had enough time and money to build a good squad of players, not a decent first choice 11.
we have 5 or 6 quality players, reina, agger, johnson, masher, stevie, aquilani possibly, and nando. carragher is past it, insua is inexpirianced, reira is far from a winger, kuyt works his socks off, but is no winger either, thats the first 11.
lucas is awfull, voronin awfull, skrtel is hit and miss, babel has no confidence, spearing inexpirianced, ngog inexpirianced, aurelio not good enough, dossena not good enough, degan not good enough, etc etc etc.
we need a new manager, a good few players, and to restart/rebuild, but the problem being, the owners have no money to do it, and which manager would want to work for the owners, i know i wouldnt.
thats one thing i will give rafa, in 2009 he has made more money from selling players, than he has been given to spend on new players, thats only been this year, in previous years he has spent more than he has made, but in 2009, as i said, he hasnt, and that will not help you compete with the chelsea's and united's.
