Sounds totally like driver error! after all he is never going to admit it is he i work for bmw if we ever had a instance like this with a new bmw someone would be flown straight up to us from bracknell from bmw & tests would be carried out on the car.
If he is blaming ford for supplying a faulty car this will be investigated big time.
