Question St170 with mtx285 or ib5 gearbox

Hi knew to forum .
Building a Mev Sonic7 Kit Car with a few mates, standard kit is 1.8 or 2.0 zetec engine.
Going to use car at knockhill circuit Track days not on road.

Going to use and have purchased st170 engine with gearbox (mtx285), loom, ecu, etc.
But also have ib5 gearbox from 1.8 as kit says, assuming i can get the mechanics working for either (rear engined).

Which is better gearbox for Job considering:

1 Light weight Kit Car (500Kg) believe ib5 is lighter of the two.

2 Mtx285 is close ratio dont know about ib5.

3 Knockhill short track, BTCC cars can do it in under 58 seconds, Is 6th gear needed Athough power should be about 330bhp/ton.

4 anything else ive not thought of.

Cheers sure there will be plenty of agro either way.
