My 4be twincam ran faultlessly all the way there and back @ motorway speeds. Sat in the traffic, no problem. And only used less than half a tank of fuel all the way from Kent and back. The cabriolet had a slight water loss problem around junction 13 of the M1, but that was a simple perished heater hose which was remedied in about 2 minutes, including refilling the header tank. Not bad for a 23 year old car IMO which has not been touched under the bonnet except for "tarting up". New set of Roose black water hoses to be on order over the winter while it is laid up though, just in case.
