that's the problem
it's a very simple structure but ever since one guy moved jobs, the place has gone to shit
the heirachy is like this,, :
then there is the logistics manager (now operations manager who comes down every once in a while to see how things are going and, when he says stuff, things happen, but he's not around much

)
then there was the assistant logistics manager (now left)
then there is the office manager (who listens but then nothing seems to ever happen)
then there is the drivers manager (who no one listens to even though he does try his best to make a go of things, you know he doens't have the support of the majority of those below him) along with the fleet manager (totally clueless as far as i'm concerned and a lot of the others too, ok for a bit of filing and form filling but not really destined to be anything other than a glorified name and title)
there are the 2 driver "liaison" types to put not a fine point on it
there are 3 people who "plan" and my position, lead driver, warehouse supervisor, etc
there are 6 people who do "driver support", probably 2 of them can help, one tries to help, the other 3 are just keeping seats warm
there are about 80 drivers
the probelm isn't telling someone, the problem is getting someone to take responsibility for getting resluts and actioning what has been offered to help out
it's either customer services who don't do what they are supposed to, or it's first time staff who put the wrong stuff down, or it's warehouse who don't send the stuff out or it's pharmacy who don't sign the stuff out or it's quality control who don't contorl the quality or whatever excuse is useable that day
noboday ever says "that was my fault, i'll sort it" there is no accountability, there is no repreimanding of staff for fucking up the orders, nothing
it's like the leaning tower of pisa, they started bulding it and then realised it was sinking, so rather than sort the foundations uot, they just built it less bent at the top so the lean stopped being so obvious, and because they have invested MILLIONS into this whole package, no one wants to admit it's a disaster because that would mean taking responsibility
and because it's been allowed to go o for so long, it's become accepted practice
plus they don't have a back up plan to replace stuff without having to spend more millions and the software company we use has them by the bollocks and you can see just how big a problem it's become
i'll probably stick it out for as long as i can because it's money at the end of the day, but my brother is looking to move to the states soon so i might be upping sticks and going out there is things get better in the next year or so
