presume a starter from a 2.8 xr4x4 or xr4i is what you need they used the type 9 box on the back of a v6

Thats what i thought as well ! Got one from a 2.8i capri and its too big
Its a 2 bolt bellhousing Dojj on the type 9 box im using, originally tried the starter motor from the granada the engine came out of but was very slow to turn over so either the starter is goosed or the teeth on the bendix are incorrect to match the flywheel ( from a 2.8i capri )
