im not sure if the zetec in the escort is the same as the focus, if it is there isnt any timing marks.

I changed the diesel pump on a fiesta and there wasnt any timing marks, you had to lock the cams with a flat bar and use a 6mm pin for the pump and use a pin that screwed into the bottom of the block which lined the crank up DTC.

The cam pulley didnt even have a woodruff key, it just was a taper when tighened it didnt move i think.

I think the zetec engine is the same
