where as in an ideal 4wd car dont you want a different split so that for better handling you dont need to loose traction before you get the 4wd handling benefits????

With haldex i cant see the point of the extra wieght if you are already loosing speed and grip (and adding time to your lap time on track) before you get the 4wd benefits.

Hence why the testing showed the focus RS better with FWD as you could easily design the car to run like that rather than having to change the handling characteristics to fit the rapidly changing front/rear torque split on the boundary of losing control!! A permenant 4wd system might have worked as you would set up handling/track etc to suit the 4wd system. Shame ford doesnt have that kind of money.
