can u not go as a named driver? i dont see the merit in forking out so much for your own insurance, fair enough u get no claims, but as i have proved most people do crash within first 2 years of owning their license and insurance is a lot lower when ur a bit older anyway..

fair enough u can afford it but i see it like this, its like paying £100 for packet of biscuits... you can afford it but its just not worth it...
