That would work but i think for all the work you have to go to get the head off etc, you want it to be done properly, you wouldnt want it to reoccur furthur down the line. I always say get it done right first time then you can forget about it. You could try it i suppose if you can do all that with the head on, if it fails then get it done properly.
i always think the same mate. I thought about trying this first and if it goes again then just to get the head off and get it welded. nothing to lose in trying it first and seing wat happens.
