Me and the missus enjoy cooking, but the range of knives around that are sharp, is quite scarce.

I just had a look on ebay, and there is a meat cleaver for £120, which is not particularly expensive if you are going to buy a one off knife or 2.

Would like a good carving knife and a veg cutting knife, anyone got any recommendations or makes to get?
