i've bought a cheap car, it's a cat c which is on the log book and it's had a vic check. i've checked the chassis numbers and they all match and look untampered with.

however, the registration on the car and the log book is different to what comes up when i type the reg into my parts computer at work, i work at a main dealer.

now the obvious answer is it's had a private plate thats been removed and then re-issued with a different reg. but would it state that on the log book? it's a 1995 car worth about £500 so i'm not overly concerened, just a little confused!
