Default Clarification on the rules please?

I put a post up in response to a question asking how much something cost.

The question was the price of an Adrenalin rear beam, to which I replied something along the lines of:

Last time I enquired they were

Stage 1 750 Squid including Valued Added Tuna
Stage 2 998 Squid including Valued Added Tuna
Race 1998 Squid including Value Added Tuna
Outright is 150 squid extra, as those prices are based on exchange.
And all of their beams come blasted and powder coated included in the price.

I dont know if these prices are current though

Now this to me seemed like a perfectly reasonable answer to a question, I didnt even include contact details for adrenalin, I just answered a question about how much something cost that was asked by another forum member.

What are the rules on this, as I assume I must have broken one but im unsure which even after reading the rules?

Surely people are allowed to ask each other how much things cost?
We've reguarly hard topics about the price of local petrol for example.

Some clarity on exactly what the problem is would be appreciated.

I havent put this in the policies and problems section because its not about policy, its about a rule (as far as im aware the two are different) and I havent PM'd it as I beleive it will be of interest to more people than just me to see what the situation is here.

Thanks for any info the webteam can give on this.

P.S
I realise I have reposted something similar to that which was deleted, but I have done so only as it constitutes an example, and to prevent it being seen as an advert I have changed the price to be in terms of seafood instead of pounds sterling so as to hopefully avoid any problems with this post.
