Hi,diesel boxes are no stronger,i had exact same prob in my mk3 turbo i used a 92 casing,which the bigger bearings are used,ie input shaft,main shaft and one side of the diff,then u need to have the ib5 bearing pressed on to the non ground bc rst main shaft this worked for me untill i sold it on was holding 242hp and 270lbft failing that a chap in performance ford mag calls himself "gears" (01704535760)he will help you out as he did with me
