How do you know this? There isn't any truth in it at all. Some people risk running the standard rods at ~300bhp levels in turbocharged form but i've not heard of anyone running more than that (as in genuine power figures). The standard pistons are certainly not handling 350bhp for any sustained period!

It's fine in N/A form. If you know what you're doing 280bhp should be attainable. 8000rpm is okay, but you said 8000+, so what do you mean? 8000? 9000? 12000?

The IB5 can handle a lot more than that and the lifespan depends on the condition of the box and how mechanically sympathetic the driver is.

If this is for a Puma you mention last, then yes some custom fabrication will be required. You're best to approach a tuner who specialises in this kind of conversions and who would know all the pitfalls etc.
