Afternoon,i have a 03 Mondeo TDCi runaround and think the Flywheel is on its way out,as is quite loud on pull off in first gear only,and tick over,will this just get louder and stop me from drivin it full stop or does anyone know what happens when they completely fail as havent really got the funds to fix it this side of Christmas and am doin loads of miles in it each day.
the other issue is that if it breaks it can smash the bellhousing or fuck up the input shaft, so you really don't want to be driving it without finding out what's actually wrong with it
the starter gear is on one part of the flywheel and the clutch face is on another part, both these parts are bonded together but i'm not sure which is bolted to the crank, all i know is that we broke about 3 vito gearboxes when we had these problems a few years ago and they replaced the dmf's with solid flywheels
