you need use tapered collars on nuts/bolts for use in alloy wheels. the bolt/nut face tightens up against the flat of the collar and NOT the alloy, so when u tighten and undo the wheels you are not gauging into the alloy each time. this not only can cause cracks in the alloy, but cuts through the paint/laquer and caused the ally to furr up and corrode.
