i have repaired alot of cat c cars and sold them on it will take a while to get the log book or if it is a cat c then the DVLA will write to you letting you no that your car needs a VIC check or Vosa this will cost about £355 last time i did it all they do is check that the car is not a ringer or a cut and shut but you will need a valid Mot to take it to a Vosa
think u made a typing error mate its £35 the guys probably just had a heart attack and that include your fee for the logbook and your logbook should come within 2 weeks of the vic check nowadays

also the car maybe have had a vic check already but does,nt sound like it , sounds like the guy saying hes lost the logbook was just an excuse
