My brother-in-law works as a train driver and he had a near miss just recent on a un-manned crossing with a woman in her car not looking at the flashing red lights or hearing the big klaxon but then a few weeks later the same crossing a guy in a car decided to cross it and got hit by a train and killed

He has missed a number of people that have run in front of him and the worse one for him was he had to stop and make a call to a signal box and was almost sucked in by a fast train going passed (phone too close to main line) to be then told when he got to the end of his driving route his mate had just been killed in the same spot he nearly was from a train pulling him into it
