Default Tranlining - causes and rectification?

Well the MR2 tramlines really badly.

by that i mean it pulls you into the dips and bumps in the road. it steers for you, not you steering it (this is a good definition isnt it?)

anyway, it has aftermarket 17" wheels and i beleive this is the cause?

So, i want to remove the tramlining and need to work out the best way to go about that. do i need to replace the wheels and go back to stock alloys (15") could it be that the tyres are the cause? is it the offset? the geomety?

basically if i can avoid swapping the wheels then great as that'll save me a lot of money
