My in-laws only have one key for their Mondeo (V-reg) They've been quoted £400 by a Ford dealership to cut a new one!! TBH that's probably what the car's worth!!

Is there a cheaper option? Or maybe a way of getting a new key cut, then programming the car to accept the key?

On my VW There's a cable I bought on ebay for £10 that let me program newkeys etc, is there an equivalent system on Fords?

Or can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative?
