I was at home, looking after my grandfather, who was going through the latter stages of a serious illness, where he couldn't dress himself, eat properly etc.

I took that time off to help out the family so that no-one else had to give up work, and also home studied for my masters degree at the same time.

When I happened to be explaining my working situation to Lee when discussing future job opportunities, he openly volunteered to lend me some cash to see me through what was a difficult time. It was actually the hardest decision in the world to accept it, but I actually had little or no choice because of my situation.

Anyway, back to the charity begging letter.
