I disagree mate, i know of two bodyshops that do this and are always happy for extra work in overtime. They have actually found this a very good way to attract business and had paid for itself 10 times over. Bodyshops major source of business is from reccommendations, so it only takes a few people to see it, have work done, then tell their mates and it could lead to many more jobs.

Now if your talking engine builds for example then yes, i agree it would have to be on a very capable car to bring business, but when your talking about a paint job, then as long as its a decent paint job, it doesnt really have to have performance to match. Although obviously, the more 'special' the paint job/car, the more people/business it will attract, which is the exact reason why im sure these sponsers on very well known cars will no doubt have to pay a fortune for the privelidge.

People who want paint jobs need to see the work for themsleves, so it has the potential to bring business for sure.

The bodyshops i know of, offer a discount if the car/bike in question is mentioned so they know exactly how much work it generates.
