Up the side of the stairs is easy too, offer it on the wall and rule along both sides, then offer it on the line of the stairs and rule both sides, so you should have 2 parallel horizontal lines and 2 parallel lines that follow the angle of the stairs. The stairs has a large open bannister up 2 flights, not a wall either side.

Theres a border on there at the minute which looks pretty straight, i was thinking of just measuring from the skirting board up over in a few places and making sure they all correspond? If the border has been put up properly itll be a lot easier as i could use that as a guide then remove the border and re paper after fitting the dado?
