that stepping out thing is rubbish really, if anything they inrease understeer, just means once you make it oversteer they can be kept like it, wheras a gay open diff naturally pulls you back in.

Get the back end out of a sec and hold sideways are 2 different things.
One you can do with an open diff, one you cant.
