Default advice needed. head gasket gone (C20LET)

the other day on the way home from pod my car started running lumpy and missing. it literally happened at the end of my road so i got it home and parked it up.

i done a compression test and got these results.

1- 10.1
2- 9.2
3- 4.0
4- 4.5

when the tester was in clylinder 3 smoke was puffing out of number 4 and when tester was in 4 smoke came from 3.

after seeing them i started to take the head off hoping to find the gasket gone between 3 and 4.

well the head is now off enough for me to slide teh gasket out and there is a nice few mm gap between clyinders 3 and 4.

now do i just replace the head gasket and bolts and put it back together time it up and hope for the best or is there anything else i could or should check before.

do gasket just go in time or will there be a cause of the problem somewhere that i need to find first?

the engine is a calibra turbo (c20let)

cheers in advance for any advice!
