RUBBISH there is always something to do if you there, ok you pick a reasonable example, but not 100% sure firmen just sit arround all day and do nothing, at night that maybe different where if you not on a shout then you sleep.
Like I said If I was the station master there would be something to do lol, the wheels on the engine could always be shinier lol.

BUT we aint talking that in general are we, we talking OFFICE workers that just sit on their arse all day anyway, and ile still stand by what ive said, IN OFFICES sure you could cut the ammount of staff needed to do the same work if internet access to everything but work related sites was banned ! Dont see how ANYBODY can argue with that statement, I am in the same sort of area in a different way, not on emergency breakdowns ALL the time, but when not there plenty of PM (PREVENTATIVE maintainance) jobs that can be done so the NEED for Breakdowns and emergency repairs becomes less, sure that can be applied in any role, in IT for example, streamlining systems, giving more training, so numptys dont have to call upon you so much and can sort there own LITTLE problems out, leaving you more time for a major network outage when it happens. Basically still say your company time could be BETTER SPENT !

Oh and Dojj
YOU say
but you want to retain double your workforce and pay them for doing half a days work? that doesn't make any sense to me, although i don't know what you do so it might be perfectly fine for you and your company

I AGREE that IS exactly what im saying, think YOU meant the OPPOSITE lol
