I've had a couple, bikes aren't like (most) cars, that sort of speed on a 1000cc sports bike is easily obtainable and not as scary as driving a car near those speeds IMO. Also it's worth noting that a more modern 1000cc bike is a good bit faster than that, my zx10r would have eaten my old R1's over 100mph.
