First of all, Hello everyone! My names Paul (if not already obvious!).

I have a P-reg ford Escort 1.8 turbo diesel and Ive only been able to drive it short distances before it starts to splutter, lose power and evenutally cut out and die. It will start again no problem.

It keeps running when the key is out of the ignition! Yesterday it kept running for about 30 secs before it finally turned off, and again later on that day.

Can anyone identify the exact problem? Unfortunately I was meant to start a delivery job yesterday using my own car, but nope, my car wont allow it, and I cant afford to repair the car until I get a job! Its a vicious cycle and I need the cheapest way to get this repaired, really hoping it isnt anything major.
