Very few individuals would be able to afford to risk putting their car into a wall in the name of entertainment i imagine, thats why i ask!
No, nothing like TOTB/TimeAttack.
Like said, 99% of cars are owned and driven and paid for by private individuals, usually home built too.
A few of these own companies associated with their car to some extent.
Most top ones have help from sponsors, but not massive help.
Simple fact is everyone smashes their cars up, and its just for fun. Just unlike most sports or groups of car peeps, they arnt pussys so just get on with it. Smash it, fix it, the end.
Two cars were easily insurance write offs by the end of the day at Wembley. They dont care.
And unlike pretty much all other motorsport, its about skill, not how much money/spec you got, so the "best" cars dont win unless they got the best drivers.
Infact this time winners was an old AE86 with a standard S2000 engine in it, and 2nd place was an even older Toyota Starlet with a Pinto engine on twin carbs.
