Very true Martin,

Worst one i ever did was a 9 month old Vauxhall Signum. The guy had parked it at work next to a foundry, and never noticed the huge layer of industrial fall out in the paint work till he came to clean it. He tried to scrape some of it off with a plastic spreader and mullered most of the roof in the process!!!

He then took it to a bodyshop who wanted to repaint the entire car cos it was so bad!

I eventually did the job for the insurance company, took 5 days to do it and charged them (from memory about £800 - £900). i had to remove the fall out with an agressive chemical mixture, wetsand and machine polish all the scratchmarks out, and it came up like brand new. the only things i couldnt save were the chrome effect plastic badges. everything else was "restored"

He actually became one of my best customers after that, brought me loads of business, like you say the appreciation of some people makes the job worth while. (at times lol)

But your right - £60-£80 is tooooo fookin cheap fella!
