if you don't get caught, you get to reap the rewards of your criminality
if you get stabbed and killed, you were just fooling around

that's the realilty of it, if you have nothing to lose then you have nothing to fear, so no matter what you do, it will not stop these attacks from happening unless you put every single offender on a mountain and a chain around their necks and let them rot there

simple and effective and all it's going to cost is the price of the chain and the person to drive them to the wilderness
