I have done your modification before .... let me tell you what you will need...First of all you don't have to raise the pistons as from what you said ... the block is the standard pinto which runs at 9.2 : 1 compression ratio... if its a cosworth block ... then i reckon that you will have to go for the forged pistons as the compression is less than 9. . .If you want more power go for forged pistons and go to some engineer and put valve pockets in them...once you are done with that you will raise the compression to arround 10 something.... A nice set of Webers 40 DCOE with short reach manifold will do the trick .... then its a question of jetting them up .... you will need the right arrangement to get the best performance out of the engine....If you're thinking of putting in some camshafts please recall that you should not buy them for the TURBO version of the Cossie head... you should search for cams which are suitable for the Aspirated version of your head...... keep that in mind ... otherwise... you 're better not messing about with the cams....
