I don't know what it is about the power delivery of the 5 pot engine, it some how spreads all the power throughout the entire rev band, the feeling of the torque just puts a huge smile on your face. It differs from the four pot engine in such a way that 300bhp is well within it's handling capabilities, the chassis gives you so much grip its almost unreal, mid corner lift off See's you get a well controllable dose of over-steer which again adds to the already positive feeling you have for the car.
Stop!!! and think for second, because I have just described an ST and not the RS we are about to get early next year...Bottom line, if the ST drives and performs as described above (someone who owns an ST should back me on this) then we are in for one hell of a surprise on what the RS is going to produce.
Raining or not, you are going to have a difficult time trying to stay with a modern FWD car in a 10-20 year old 4WD...you will need a monsoon with 300 MPH gusts in order to have an equal chance of beating the "new RS" in a 4WD car.
just you convince yourself then
with less power and the 5 pot the ST aint all that
The golf gti can beat it round a track with less power
its you lot that thinks its gonna be great need to take a look at yourselfs
poeple are playing into fords hands buying the stupid thing
