assuming your mates type-r is standard a stage 1 saff will eat that! your car as it is will eat that alive!
greens will be OK to about 380ish
greys will do 430-450ish
your car with that spec will be able to make 320-330bhp no problem, dont get too hung up on the t34.
your looking at £400 for a 2nd hand t34, and more money to change the chip (get a decent chip as well, such as MSD) for an extra few horses, personally i would bother
depending on where you live; you'be be better off spending £150+VAT for a decent set up with your current spec at MSD or MAD
