Default ECU/Management Adivce Plz.... Mfi Vs Efi

Im at a situation where I need to re-wire the car electicaly, due to a bodged Escort Rs turbo conversion. The insulation on the amal valve wire melted and shorted out. So now the ecu wont power switch the valve (i've tried blowing in the vacum pipe for the ecu). looks like i need a new ecu..
So the question is go EFi and junk the MFi, whats the benefits?

The engine specs are as follows..
1600cc with +40 Mahle pistons
Cylinder Head devlopments Stage 3 head
Kent Cvh 35 kit
Hybrid T3 cut back blades, 360 degeres bearing...
-31 Actuator
K&N
intercooler to be upgraded soon
Thinking of Using a Pace Charge cooler, As i want the car to look original as posible (Mk2 Fiesta Xr2)

Will cossie, weber alpha, meagsquirt and the likes give me any advantages??
Or am i just going to throw away money i can spend esle where..,
