Try getting f/c quotes with a much higher excess than normal ie £1000 excess (dont forget that on tpft you wouldnt be able to claim at all) as this has been known to produce some decent quotes.

Tesco are a very good insurer for doing this with (on the phone not internet), and if you get a cheaper quote from direct line (underwritten by the same company) they do a no quibble price match.
