Switched on the ignition only and the temp gauge went right off the dial so assuming it is the sender unit where is it on a 4x4 Sapphire Cossie, not that I have much chance of getting one over here but may be it cross references with a Mustang of Thunderbird or something like that as a sender is a sender aint it?
turbo side of the head at the front, single wire going to it, easy fix, 1/2 inch spanner and have the replacement in your hand ready to screw in as water will come out. if you lose lots of water dont forget to top up the header tank
