IMO, the best ring car, is standard engine, or very mildly tuned, i.e no more than a 20% increase in power, good suspension, brakes and tyres.

Hmm - sounds like a good idea to me... better to save ur money for lap tickets, petrol and consumables. Maybe even the odd spare engine...
I just added an exhaust to mine to make it sound naughty and lose 25 kilos of weight. It is always good to know that when its sitting at 7950rpm on the way up towards angstkurve that its all within factory tolerances. It might one day self destruct as the mileage is getting up so I plan on buying a 2nd low mileage engine and keeping it as spare.
