What does it look like on the screen and how the fook do you know what is what ?

I'm not a technical person and I know nowt about it but I would just like for one, to see what you see on the screen when you're mapping something, and two what happens when you live map a car is the onwer driving it as you map it ? Might have asked a daft question there but as I said I know nowt about it and would like to know a tiny bit so I know what goes on.
