You dont have to be in 100% perfect condition mentally to acheive those things.
Going back to the car analogy, if you thrash your cars engine from cold, it will still get you to work and back and not break down generally, you just might end up with some damage that results in slightly worse performance or economy, without comparing it to another car of identical spec that wasnt thrashed from cold, you would never know there was anything wrong with it, despite your massive "experience" of that car on a day to day basis.

using your car analogy - if the car is poor on performance or bad on economy what do you do? give it a service is a good place to start? you can pretty much do that with the human body as well mate - its a more amazing machine than any car - it can repair itself a lot of the time. good healthy living and exercise goes a long way.
