That's why I said use a dual action, have to fall asleep whilst using it to burn through the paint.
Rotary is just like an angle grinder, powerful and fixed.
Dual action oscilates, doesn't stay in one spot, this avoiding too much heat, and also stops spinning if you press too hard.
If you want any kind of defect removal you need a machine polisher of one type or another.
Paint on my bmw, anything above the very slightest of clearcoat mark, and I wet and dry it before using, as takes a long time as paint is so hard.
Not aware of Ford paint being particularly hard or soft.
